Assigning a point system to RTs (case 19510)
I am programming a task that requires correct answers and faster reaction times to be rewarded with more points than wrong answers and slower reaction times. However I can not figure out how to do this using DirectRT 2012. Is it possible to implement a point system for RTs using DirectRT? If so, how do I begin? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
If you are trying to do this in real-time during the same session in which participants are making the keypresses that create the response times, this is not possible with any current version of DirectRT. Or did you want to use the points as part of a different subsequent task?
I would like to assign an existing point system to my lexical decision task. Furthermore, correct answers and faster reaction times would be rewarded with more points than incorrect answers and slower reaction times.
Is it possible to incorporate an external script (i.e., the point system formula based on RTs) into my DirectRT input file?
The points would not need to be shown throughout the trails but a grand total would be presented to participants at the end of the task.
Please let me know if this is possible and if clarification is needed

Based on this description, this isn't something that it sounds like you can do in DirectRT.
