A funny thing happened yesterday. A participant was doing a rank ordering task (attached) and accidently dragged one of the items to the bottom of the screen that is black. That item could not be retrieved and the program would not allow her to continue. To avoid this problem in future we thought we would allow participants to "go back" (thinking it might reset the screen or something) but found this option is not applicable to the rank order task. This will likely be a rare occurrence, but thought you might like to know for future developments. For the present, do you have any suggestions? Is there a way to reset the rank order screen? Thanks!
I've never heard of this before, but you are quite right--I just tried this and funny or not, it happened to me too. Hmm. There should certainly be a boundary on the drop region. I will add this to our to-fix list. In the mean time, try the attached revision. The goback feature ought to work. You just need to make sure that there is another item prior to the ranking item located in the same questionnaire.
