Introduce error latencies while storing correct and incorrect responses (case 15510)

    Hi there,

I am designing an IAT using direct RT in which I would like to incur an error latency when participants select the wrong category. This means that if participants try to categorize the word "sunshine" as negative, direct rt will store the incorrect responses's reaction time, but also add that RT to the time it then takes for the participant to realize their mistake and categorize "sunshine" as positive.

This means that correct responses will be set, and trials will not come to an end until the correct key is pressed. However, it also means that direct rt will record and save incorrect responses in an output file. I look forward to your feedback.

Could you please upload an excel sheet DirectRT input file that has an example of your IAT task? Specifically, I would like to see if you had features like masking or feedback so that I can make sure they get incorporated into any input files that I attempt. Thanks!

I've included one of the conditions. In this file, participants aren't allowed to move on until they press the correct key. We would like this procedure, but with data collected on the participants' incorrect key presses.

    Hi Dany,

It sure does! For information and examples of masking, take a look at the DirectRT manual here: http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/help/directrt_samples_standard_priming.htm. For information about feedback, take a look at these two parts of the DirectRT manual: http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/help/directrt_jumping.htm
    and

Let me know if you have any other questions.
