Switching Text Style Mid-trial

On page 51 of the 2004 manual, it says that one should see "XXX for details" on how to switch styles mid-trial. But i can't find "XXX." A similar message is given in manual 2006.

How does one switch styles mid-trial? Where are these instructions in the manual?
Also, I am assuming that one cannot switch styles mid-trial if the trial includes compound screens and the previous screen (with a different style) is being directed to "not clear." At least, technically (or logically), I cannot see how this could work.

Not sure off hand what the page number is in the 2004 manual, but it should be located in the "Style" section under "Input Files". You can also see it online here:
