Time constraint and Skipping
Time constraint and Skipping
Hi there,
I am trying to change the parameters (left from screen and height from bottom of screen) for a timer box. I have entered the parameters (l.20),(d-310) for a .que file and it works perfectly yet when the same parameters are applied to another .que file, the text and timer shift to the left. In other words the timer is on the bottom center for one .que file yet for another it is shifted to the left, even though the parameters are exactly the same for each .que file
How do I change that once the timer runs out instead of a pop-up box appearing to tell the participant to go to the next section, it simply goes to the next position.
Thanks for the help
Hi Psychres,
That is unusual for the duration parameter to not appear the same when used in different questionnaire files. Do you see that same error happen if you run the questionnaire files individually? Also, what kind of item are you using with the duration parameter?
Hi Jason,
I have the duration parameter set up on the experiment file so when the questionnaire is run by itself no parameters are run.
I have attached a screen shot of the set up.
Also, any idea how to skip skip to the next position in an experiment after a timer has run out?
Thanks for the help
That screen capture was very helpful. I think I may see the problem. If you use more than one parameter option for an item, you should have them all in one set of parentheses with each specific parameter option separated by a comma. Change your current parameter options from (l.20),(d-310) to (l.20, d-130) and see if that works.
Thanks for the help Jason.
But there is still the same problem. The timer appears on the left in position 8 for the screenshot. This is just a minor problem, which can be overlooked
The main thing I want to sort out is the fact that a pop-up box informs the participant to press enter to move to the next section once the timer has run out. How would I get it to automatically move on.
Cheers
Would you mind sending me a copy of your study files? I would like to run them on my computer with its settings to see if I can replicate this error. Please send them to support@empirisoft.com and name the email case 9624 materials.
