Using a Different Key Than Spacebar to Proceed (case 6861)

Using a Different Key Than Spacebar to Proceed (case 6861)

    Hi,

I would like to disable the space bar and instead use the #5 key to proceed to the next page. Is there a parameter in MediaLab for this option? The power point slide I am concerned about should require the experimenter and not the subject to proceed to the next page. For this reason, space bar cannot be an option since subjects typically use this button to move onto the next page/power point slide in the experiment.

    Thank you in advance,

    Joanna

    Hi Joanna.

What kind of item type are you using to present the Powerpoint slide?

    Hi Joanna!

To turn off the spacebar, you can enter k-1 in the parameter field of the item displaying the Powerpoint slide. However, MediaLab does not have the capability to assign keys to advance the screen. An alternative would be to use the secret key combination of Ctrl + Right Arrow to advance to the next item in a questionnaire file.
