Automatic Reponse to a Fill-In-the-Blank Question (case 6825)
Automatic Reponse to a Fill-In-the-Blank Question (case 6825)
Hi,
Right now, MediaLab has generated this response when subjects fail to enter in any words for our fill-in-the blank question: "It would be ideal if you were to type in something before continuing." Do you know how I might go about editing this message? I looked at my fill-in-the-blank-file in the editor field and there isn't any sign of this message. It appears to be automatically generated by MediaLab.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!
Cheers,
Joanna
Hi Joanna,
See the Preferences and Options Section of the Help Guide and click on "Changing Default Feedback and Message Text."
Heed the warning: "Do NOT modify messages.txt! That would be bad. Instead, create and modify a file called substitute.txt"
You'll identify the message you want to substitute by the code (in your case 103) and type what you would prefer MediaLab to tell people.
You can have a lot of fun editing the messages to fit your experiment.
Enjoy
The subsitute text completely worked. Thank you!
