    Windows File permissions on c:\directrt & c:\medialab with 2012 product (case 435)

    Hello

Can somebody tell me if all Windows users (i.e. windows user accounts) of new releases MediaLab 2012 and DirectRT 2012 will still need full read & write access to the folders:

    "c:\medialab" and "c:\directrt" under Windows 7?

This was certainly the case with earlier versions of both products when running under Windows XP.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm developing an unattended (scripted) installation for both of these products for use with automated setup of our lab computers and when we were running XP we had to use the "xcalcs.exe" command line tool to apply full read/write windows user file permissions for all users to both of these folders so that both products could be used properly by "ordinary" windows users. i.e. Non windows administrators.

Is this still ncecessary for the new 2012 versions under Windows 7?

    Many thanks

    kind regards

    David

    hi David,

If this is still an open issue for you: I think that execute/read/write permissions are needed for "c:\medialab" and "c:\directrt" for v2012 on Win7. There is a temp directory in each of the above.
