When running DirectRT on a new machine with Windows Vista, I receive the message:
“An internal error occurred on code line 0. This has caused this session to terminate. Error #429. Active X component can’t create object.”
This message used to indicate that Microsoft's DirectX v7 or later was not installed. It was usually limited to old installations of Windows 95 or early versions of Windows 98. Now, however, some users are seeing this message with Vista.
