    keyboard problem (case 3996)

    Dear MediaLab,

I am writing because we upgraded our computers (PCs, Windows 7), and the precision keyboards we have no longer work. I believe this might be related to a thread I'm seeing on the bulletin board. Let me copy the relevant message here:

We've just released v2010 firmware for the DirectIN boxes and keyboards. It appears that this firmware is compatible with all modern operating systems (specifically XP, Windows 7, Mac OX 10.6, etc).

This firmware includes a 'field update' utility, which allows us to email new firmware for the keyboards and boxes, if ever required. The update takes place over the existing USB interface, no screwdrivers required.

    Contact us for details.

I am writing to see if you could please explain this issue of firmware to me and how to implement it so that we can use the keyboards.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Mary,

When were the keyboards purchased? Send me an email (sales@empirisoft.com) and we'll see what we can do.

We have upgraded our computers from windowsXP to windows 7, the keyboards we have are also precision keyboards that worked with XP but now cannot be recognized by Windows 7. Do we also need different drivers loaded for these?
