In medilab to skip an item on the screen when I'm testing, I press crtl-right arrow. This doesn't work in directRT. Is there a similar keyboard shortcut to skip a trial?

As far as I know, not yet. Unless you were to build one into it (i.e., a keycode on each trial that jumps to the next trial. I do believe this is on our to-do list though.
