My button is labelled '0' but shows up as '1' in data file

The data from my scale response items are being saved to the Excel and SPSS files as 1-6 rather than 0-5 as I have set it up.
See the section on data in the guide--it talks about this and how you can have the values automatically recoded if you like. Note, that the data stored by default is the button they press or click, not the label that appears on screen. If the first button is labelled -3 (there is obviously no -3 key), the data would indicate they pressed or clicked the 1 key.
