Open Office

    Open Office

    Hi,

I have only a short question -just to be sure :-)
We are looking for laptops (group testing) at the moment and they are expensive, of course. I know it is necessary to have a spreadsheet application installed. My question: Does the spreadsheet application of Open Office work?

    Best,
    Lara

Hi Lara - Open Office will work fine. Unlike MediaLab, DirectRT simply needs the ability to read and write .CSV files. DirectRT doesn't need a spreadsheet application installed to write these files, only to read them. Open Office will read these files just as efficiently as Microsoft Excel would.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I can help in any way.

I have medialab running on windows XP computers and windows 7 computers with Office XP. We have a computer with windows 7 started edition and the new office and our responses file isn't working. I can open it and edit it and save it as a newer or older version but the skips aren't working. We currently can't get an older version of office installed on the computer because it doesn't have a cd drive (and won't install from a key or network) so are looking for other options. Would open office work?
