Resolution not supported on this system message
Resolution not supported on this system message
[edited from support email]
We haven't had a Direct RT issue in such a long time, that I guess we needed one! We recently got several new laptops but are running the same version of Direct RT with the very same Direct RT programs, but we are having a problem with the resolution on just some of the programs, not all. When trying to access certain programs, we get this message:
"1280 x 1024 with 16 bit colour is not supported on this system. The most likely cause of this problem is colour depth. If you are requesting 24 or 32 bit colour via "colour txt" in your experiment folder, make sure your graphics card supports this (many support one or the other, but not both)"
Currently, the resolution on the laptop is set to 1024 x 728 pixels and
32-bit. How might we resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance for your time and help!
Are you able to manually set the display resolution to 1280x1024 using the Windows Display Properties? If not, what happens if you change the
resolution at which your experiment is set to run to 1024x768 by clicking
Options in the experiment's style (.drt) file? Your display settings for
this experiment may be from another machine and might not be supported on these?

Thank you SO much...that worked! I wasn't able to manually set the display resolution to 1280 x 1024 - but I was able to change it to 1024 x 768 in the style file - and that solved the problem.
