Stroop Task using the keyboard
Stroop Task using the keyboard
I was looking for a version of the stroop task in which participants respond using the keyboard instead of verbally name the color of the words as in the original version of the task. By any chance, does anyone have a DirectRT script of a stroop version like this (in which participants use the keyboard)? In this case, would you mind sharing it with me?
Thanks a lot!
Paolo
Hi Paolo - Have you tried altering the sample included with DirectRT yet?
Hi Newell,
Could you show me how to alter the existing script in DirectRT so that I can use the keyboard instead of voice? Thanks
Sure - first, navigate to the following folder:
C:\DirectRT\Samples\5 other features\12 voice responses stroop
Select to open the file: stroop automatic.csv .
'
Once you've opened this file, navigate to column "L". This column contains the time value that identifies we want to use an audio response to continue. In order to use a key response, simply change the rt: value found within this column.

Hi, I created a Stroop using the keyboard, but I should warn you it was used as a filler task, not for analysis. So you may want to tweek it.
Key responses are entered using the number pad. I placed colored stickers on the number pad.
Files named focus, intro, and thankyou should be placed in a stim folder. Sorry I couldn't make a zip file.
Thank you very much for posting this Susan. I'm sure quite a few people will find this helpful.
