Open ended responses recording as -1

Hi. My files include several open-ended questions (using rt:text). For some reason, all the responses to these questions are recorded in the data as -1. This same thing happens when I run the "anagram" file from the help/samples folder. Any thoughts on how I can fix the problem?

I think open ended text data are stored/written only in the log version of the data file (see the log data subfolder), and not in the short version.
