Zooming with Joystick in Approach-Avoidance Task
Zooming with Joystick in Approach-Avoidance Task
Will V2008 allow the following?
- Record continuous joystick movement and response time to images.
- Have a zooming effect for images...where the image is replaced with the same picture but a different size. The point would be to simulate the picture on the screen as moving away (presenting subsequent smaller pictures) or toward the participant (presenting subsequent larger pictures).
#1: Yes, no problem.
#2: No. That would be a neat feature though. We've thought about ways to give visual feedback with continous joystick (and mouse) motion for scales and such. Currently (as of v2008.13) you can't do it, but I don't think the logic would be that much different for zooming.
Hi Blair,
Thanks for the quick response! We'll probably scrap the zooming idea. Do you happen to have some sort of standard CSV file that can be used for setting up what we need to do with response and latency recording (what's addressed in question #1)? If so, could I have a look?
thanks
Yes, check out:
http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/help/directrt_samples_of04_joystick_continuous.htm
and on your local disk after installation:
C:\DirectRT\Samples\5 other features\04 joystick continuous
Found it in the DirectRT folder...thanks so much Blair!
