Viewing Randomly Chosen Stimuli in Output File

Hello. The experiment I am building will choose random stimuli (%picture) and require participants to respond. In order to determine if their response is correct or not, it'll be essential to know what stimulus was presented. How can I get this to show in the output file?

    Thanks.

Check the log version of the data file rather than the standard short data file. You'll find it in a data subfolder called, you guessed it.. "log". Let me know if that doesn't get you what you need. See also the data section in the user's guide or online here:

Nope. I've looked in the log file - it does not have the data I need. I need to see what stimuli were shown PRIOR to the trials that ask for a response. I tried setting values at -1 (as suggested in a different thread) in order to see what stimuli were shown on preceding trials, to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the help.

Problem solved. I was putting the -1 in a values column, instead of in the BLOCK column.

That solved all the problems. :)

Ahh, that'll do it. Thanks for the update, glad to hear it worked out. Note to other users--entering a negative value in the Block column (e.g., -1) ensures that data are written for trials that do not collect any RTs--such as "display only" trials.
