Stim inside of another Stim (case 27984)

I am putting together a set of text stims in DirectRT that require variable information to be placed in the middle of each sentence. For example, I would like participants to see a sentence on the screen that says "Last week, you shopped at for a towel." However, I want to be replaced by participant responses earlier in the study.

I know this is possible in medialab by using the <variable> command but is it possible in DirectRT? This study will benefit from the strict screen controls available in DirectRT so I am trying to assess my options.

Have you tried the DirectRT feature of using open ended responses as stimuli as described here in the DirectRT manual:
